Pump-regulator HP-3BM and its modification HP-3BM-T, HP-3VMA-T, HP-3VMA is designed for automatic regulation of fuel supply for powering engines of helicopters Mi-8 (and its modifications), Mi-17, Mi-171, Mi-172, Mi-24, Mi-35.

The HP-3VM pump-regulator provides fuel metering during starting, acceleration, and deceleration, maintains the set operating modes based on the rotational speed of the turbocharger rotor and the rotational speed of the free turbine, synchronizes the air pressures behind the compressors when two engines are operating together, changes the fuel supply based on the signals from the electronic regulators, distributes fuel to the injector circuits, stops the engine, and controls the compressor vanes.

The nominal fuel pressure is 6 MPa, and the maximum flow rate is 540 kg/hour.
